When and how did you get connected with Solly?
I bought my first Solly Wrap before my daughter was born in 2018, I had been following Solly Baby on Instagram since I had first gotten pregnant and knew I wanted a wrap to babywear. I remember wrapping my daughter when she was just a few days old and we went on our first walk together. I still have my very first wrap and it brings up all kinds of good memories. I wore her to farmers markets, the pumpkin patch, the zoo, museums, the library and to pretty much any outing we had.

What’s a time in the last week when your heart has felt full?
Saturday morning, watching my two older daughters play with magnetic tiles, while I held our sleeping baby sipping coffee, and my husband cooked us all breakfast.

What is your favorite thing about your Solly Wrap?
Having my hands free to tend to my older children when needed, and the contact naps!

How do you define your role as a mother?
Nurturing caregiver. I tend to the needs of my children and enjoy spending time with them, teaching them, and making magical memories.

May is Maternal Health Month. As a mental health professional, what are some tools you use to care for your own mental health as a mom?
As a mom, I tend to my own mental health by practicing mindfulness and trying to stay present in the now. I notice that my anxiety always increases when I start thinking about all the future things I need to get accomplished. I try to focus on things I can control and let go of the things outside my control. And I offer myself grace, because it takes practice and you won’t be perfect at it all the time. Moments where I try to be mindful are when I’m nursing my baby, drinking my coffee, and reading my kids books. I really try to use my senses to take in all those little moments.

What’s something about motherhood that has surprised you?
My ability to function (and occasionally thrive) on very little sleep.

When do you feel at your best as a mom?
When I can be fully present with my kids playing and reading.

Walk us through a typical day in your life.
While on maternity leave, I wake up, feed and change Edie, get Hazel and Cove up and fed. Brush teeth, get dressed and head out for drop off at school and daycare. Back home to clean up breakfast and start the dishwasher/laundry. This is usually followed by some other cleaning up that needs to be done and checking emails/doing some work. Next, lunch and running and errands that need to be done. Then pickups from daycare and school. Back home for some play time followed by dinner, and then the nightly routine consisting of books, pjs, brushing teeth, and tucking in at bedtime. Then I get Edie ready for bed and may even spend some time winding down by watching a show!

What would you do with an extra hour in the day (other than sleep)?
Clean. I love waking up to a reset house. I would definitely spend the extra hour finishing up any tasks that I didn’t get to during the day.

Where was the first place you took your baby (other than the pediatrician’s office)?
Probably Target!

What’s something you loved to do before baby that you still do or would like to start up again (eventually)?
Traveling out of town for day trips to shop and eat.

Favorite piece of advice you’ve received about motherhood?
Do what’s best for you and your baby.

Words of wisdom would you share with other moms?
Give yourself lots of grace, and ask for help when you need it—because we all need a little help sometimes!

What are three things in your motherhood starter pack?
Cozy clothes for you and baby, Solly Baby Wrap, and Snuggle Me Lounger (and a Haaka if you’re nursing!)

What Solly pieces(s) do you have? What's on your wishlist?
We have Wraps, Sleepers, and Crib Sheets. I would love a Cottage Border Wrap or Sleeper.

How about a round of rapid-fire favorites…
Indulgence: A glass of prosecco and dessert
Podcast: My Favorite Murder
Children's Book: You Belong Here by M.H. Clark
Mama-time activity: Watching a movie
After bedtime snack: Chocolate
